A company or organization is no better than the sum of its parts. they are a large group of people that come together for a common goal and dream. this dream is Realize by the leader and he use the various people and employees of the company to create something great. with that being said the company has to have certain principles or ideas that it stands behind. everyone must be following the vision for it to succeed. In an article from CNBC, Steve Ritchie is the CEO of Papa John’s Pizza and he has a Vision for the company. however, recently a situation happened that opposed and could have even hindered the growth of Papa John’s Pizza.
Recently a high-ranking executive at the company made some racially insensitive comments and even used a racial slur. Not only was it recorded but it got out to the General Public who wore strongly against what was said. she was in the situation and had to handle it very carefully as a leader. he decided to issue out an apology to the people. he actually released two but the second apology was much more in impactful. He made it clear that his company in no way shape or form supported or believe the views of that single individual who made the comment. Steve Ritchie strongly stated that racial insensitive language would not be tolerated by him or anyone else in his company. According to Crunchbase, to ensure that a situation like this never happened again he would talk to his employees and educate them on diversity. after all the company was made up of people from different backgrounds and lifestyles. he also decided to go on a tour to meet the people and supporters.
Steve Ritchie (@stevemritchie) admitted that this situation was one of the hardest he ever had to deal with as a leader. he apologized openly and sincerely to all of the people who has ever order his product.
He took responsibility for the situation and promised to make changes so that this will never ever happen again. not only did he apologize but he is actively making changes the he specified to the people.
